Value Added Services
All of our Value Added Services come with any server colocation or leasing arrangement at no additional charge. These services were created with your unique needs as an offshore customer in mind, and we are adding new, useful tools on an ongoing basis.
Customers can powercycle their servers on demand using our password-protected power control unit.
Offshore registrar account available for domain name transfer or registration. If we use our offshore account to manage your domain name for you, Finhosting's company information appears on the whois.
DNS servers for unlimited hosting of your domain names and as local DNS cache for your server applications. The host records for these nameservers are held by Finland's own registrar (you can create your own host records and point them at our servers if you choose, however). The DNS servers are connected to both the public and private networks.
Private network on seperate switch for inter-server communications. Traffic on the private network does not count toward your monthly 95th% totals. When you use your secondary ethernet card to connect to the private net, packets from your caching DNS requests, SNMP connections, and data exchanged between your servers avoid the public switch.
Special Finhosting.fi email address. This webmail implementation is perfect for private domain name registrations or other email where privacy is a concern.
- Outgoing email does not reveal your source IP anywhere in the mail headers.
- Our mail server does not store your sent mail. The PHP form interacts directly with sendmail and does not store outgoing mail (there is no "Sent Mail" folder available or even possible). The only email stored on the server is what you see in your Inbox.
- 100% offshore owned and controlled email service. This includes the finhosting.fi domain name, DNS servers, mail server, and even the registrar.
This email implementation is simple, yet perfect for this purpose. Most functions do not use java, making it usable by cell phone web browsers and text browsers such as Links and Lynx for reading and sending mail (it is not an actual WAP site, however).

RRDtool-based traffic and server statistics. You get access to our SNMP monitoring system (includes 95th% calculation) to monitor your traffic usage on our switchport.
Disk usage, memory, and ethernet card traffic on your server are also available (your server must run SNMPD for these stats to be collected)
